About Gary

Gary Gianetti MS, CPT

My personal mission within Healthy Altitudes is to help individuals, families, and communities promote health while having fun and pursuing happiness.

Over the last 10 years at community centers, hospitals, churches, schools, sports programs, and camps I have successfully developed and implemented dozens of community and health programs. I have helped thousands of  youth and families to achieve goals with safety and fun in mind.  I am excited to implement my unique and diverse background with you and to help promote health and happiness for you and your family.

Some of my best experiences have been with youth and families representing communities as a Director at a YMCA, as a University Mascot, and representing Connecticut as Mr. Connecticut, among other zany occupations. Since finishing my graduate degree in Health Promotion at UConn (Class of ’05), I have dedicated a large amount of time to furthering my certifications, education, and community outreach in health and recreation education. I have worked hard to obtain and maintain certifications for fitness, group fitness, personal training, snowboard instruction, wilderness first aid, and outdoor education. I love sharing these passions with my clients.

In 2007, a team of dedicated volunteers and I made time to travel to all 50 states in 50 consecutive days riding a bicycle 100 miles per day to raise awareness for cancer survivorship and its affects on families and communities. This was a world record to raise awareness that we can choose to be healthy and to be active or we can make unhealthy choices. You can choose what you want to do …for your life.  The proceeds from this ride benefited the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

More recently, while in Boulder Colorado, I teach youth and adults to make their lives healthier inside fitness centers and outside on mountains teaching winter sports.  I currently work as a personal trainer at two local facilities, one private and one public. I am an active cyclist and runner and I love getting downtown to take in some culture when I can. My favorite food is anything with vegetables and my favorite soda is Diet Dr. Pepper (anything in moderation is okay).

I look forward to helping you and your children reach towards your goals and pursue fun, health, and happiness along the way.

In Health,

Gary G
