Thursday, September 20th, 2007
The rides are getting tougher with timing and bike maintaining. Today was a good ride and I beat the rain. We also has some awesome support from the locals. Thank you Charlotte, Thank you Karina. And thank you Witchita Falls. I loved your ride. This is a short blog as I need to get behind the wheel and do some driving and then I have to tune my bike. More to come.... .
Keep on going!

I have to start this of by saying thank you to Charlotte for all her hard work with getting hotels like the Holiday Inn of Wichita Falls, TX. Without her and the wonderful people at the hotels we stay in, this journey would extremely more difficult. The help that we recieve should not go unnoticed. We try to express our gratitude with every chance we get.
We got into the hotel where Marcus and Xavier (his 3 year old son) were there to help us check in. He introduced us to Karina Hurley the Sales Manager who set everything up for us. She really did a wonderful job wih making us feel welcomed to Wichita Falls. She left a basket in the room with some goodies and called local media. In fact she was so much help it’s actually hard to write down everything that was done for us to keep us on track. I spent some time with her and Brenda in the office talking about how cancer had effected their lives. Cancer really has hit close to home for them. This is the reason we are out here to show people that there are others who reckognize this and want to help be part of the solution. So to everybody at the Holiday Inn of Wichita Falls a very special thanks go out to you. Keep up the excellent work you are doing there. We really enjoyed our stay there.
We got up to a wonderful breakfast already prepared and almost out the kitchen and up the elevator to our room when we showed up to the restaurant downstairs. Stephanie ran into the kitchen and stopped it just in time and brought it out to the table we sat at. She even brought up our lunch later this aternoon. Chef Bill really took care of us with preparing these excellent meals.
While Gary was out on the ride today we had called each other a few times and the ride seemed to be appropriately named. Even now in late September. It was Hotter Than Hell. I filled the tub with ice water so when Gary got back he could soak for a little while and lower his body temperature and ice his sore legs. We eventually had to say bye to the group at the hotel and start the drive to Oklahoma. I relinquished the cockpit to Gary halfway there and dozed off on the air matress we have in the back for about an hour or so.
We showed up to the Days Inn in Durant, OK and Victoria got us set up in 2 different rooms and guided us to the Chili’s down the street. Art Ray and the staff there took care of us tonight. That was the first Chili’s we have gone to this whole trip. The food was awesome. It will definetly help on the ride tomorrow. While Gary got out the bike to change out wheels and give it a tune up, I went across the street to the Holiday Inn express where I could use the internet and do some research and type the blog tonight. Thanks to everyone who helped out, our day was very productive. We are getting things done one ride at a time. I can’t believe that tomorrow will be 35 already.
I’m off to bed now. I wonder what tomorrow will bring. Everyday is so much different than the day before. This is an amazing journey we are on.
