Minnesota - 10,000 lakes…

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

The state is called the land of 10,000 lakes. I found out that most of them are called round lake. The views were awesome!

Overall, the ride was great. It started with some hills and rollers then it turned for the better and became flat. Then towards the end, the wind picked up and the headwinds made the ride more of a challenge. It was beautiful though. The Jesse James centruy route was well marked until the end and then we figured it out. Scot met me me at the end with a great sandwich from Subway (thanks Matt!) What a way to refuel for the next ride.

Rolling Hills with wind power in the background. Awesome!!

Also, after a great night’s sleep at the Archer Inn. The place was great and had one of the biggest shower/jacuzzi’s I have ever seen in a room.  I was well rested to tackle the hills and wind and make it to the end to taste the Subway. Also the hills will be easier today after the new cassette that we got a good deal on thanks to Jorge at Erik’s cycles in Burnsville Minnesota.

What a great town Northfield Minnesota is. The people were awesome the rolling views were amazing and the course was well marked and well stocked with stops for water or snacks. A must see for the century rider.

I am off to change the cassette and get riding in North Dakota today.….. Can’t wait!!
